Presented by the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions, Craigieburn library has been awarded International Public Library of the Year 2014.
Libraries have evolved from a place to ‘just borrow books’ into a destination for all members of the community and cultural backgrounds to gain knowledge, interact and share experiences creating a sense of belonging.
These underpinning factors have been the driving force behind this award winning library.
Resource Furniture consulted with FJMT (Francis-Jones Morehen Thorp Architects), to further develop the Inform library system. In order to define space throughout the library, the Inform system advanced from standard rectangular units to include accessories such as wedges to alter the direction of the shelving as well as create circular form. The magazine acrylic doors were developed to further coordinate with the Inform system.
This was just the beginning of Resource Furniture’s exploration to develop our ever evolving Library Systems to ensure we keep abreast of the progressing needs of Public, Private and School Libraries.
