Kingston City Council, with financial contributions from the Victorian Government, has completed construction of the state-of-the-art community and education hub in Westall at a cost of $8,970,000.
The Westall Community Hub is co-located at the Westall Primary School and Westall Secondary College site, located in Clayton South, Victoria and provides a range of services including:
- A public library branch which has a contemporary digital focus
- Community Centre
- Supported Playgroup
- A range community health and support services
- A community kitchen.
Resource Furniture were involved in the early stages of planning. Working closely with the library, RF provided a Space Planning Service to provide a guided approach to modelling the library space, design optimum shelving and loose furniture placement and create a more dynamic, multi -purpose environment for people to connect, explore, and learn.
The RF design team then worked through colour schemes with materials and finishes to suit the project brief and design intent; resulting in a cohesive collection of library shelving and breakout furniture.
